Harambee Stars forward Job Ochieng scored for Real Sociedad B on Monday night, as they defeated Huesca 2-1 away in a Spanish Segunda Division clash.

Ochieng was named in the starting team, lining up on the left side of attack, and would go on to score an important second goal for Sociedad in a match they had to grind out after Mikel Rodriguez was sent off in the 66th minute.

Sociedad were leading 1-0 by the time they were reduced to ten men.

Lander Astiazaran opened the scoring for Sociedad in the 27th minute after being set up by Ibai Aguirre in what proved to be the only goal of the first half.

Ochieng struck 11 minutes later to double the lead, with Astiazaran turning provider this time.

The Kenyan was substituted three minutes later as Sociedad introduced fresh legs to help defend their advantage.

Jordi Escobar pulled one back deep into stoppage time from an Enol Rodriguez assist, but it proved too little too late as the goal ended up being only a consolation.

The victory lifted Sociedad to 16th in the league standings with 45 points from 39 matches.

They will next face Mirandes on Saturday.

“The game was a tough one, but the team gave everything. We had to fight until the end and it is important that we got the win we deserved,” Ochieng said in his post-match interview.

Meanwhile in Morocco, Johnstone Omurwa started and played 60 minutes for Kawkab Marrakech in their 2-1 loss to Yacoub El Mansour on Monday evening.

Omurwa was booked in the 24th minute.

Mehdi Balouk opened the scoring for El Mansour in first-half stoppage time before grabbing his second goal of the match in the 73rd minute.

Illyass Badri’s 76th-minute own goal gave Omurwa and his teammates hope, but it ultimately proved to be only a consolation strike.
