The Law Enforcers endured a difficult start to the season, spending much of the first leg rooted at the bottom of the table. However, a run of improved results helped them climb off the foot of the standings, although they remain firmly in the relegation battle.

In a bid to steady the ship, the club recently appointed experienced tactician Sammy 'Pamzo' Omolo to lead the team, with the immediate objective of securing top-flight survival before laying stronger foundations for next season.

Speaking in an interview, Akama, who previously served as Kenya Police FC board chairman, said the club is conducting careful and targeted recruitment to address key weaknesses in the squad.

“We are being very tactical in our transfer dealings because this is a window where you do not have room to make too many signings,” Akama said.

“We are bringing in a few players to strengthen the team, so we must be thorough to ensure we maximise this opportunity.”

He confirmed that Nyakwaka and Wandera were recruited on the coach’s recommendation and believes both will make an immediate impact.

“So far, we have brought in Nyakwaka and Wandera on the advice of the technical bench. Nyakwaka is a very promising forward. We know him well from his time at Mara Sugar, and we are confident he will score goals for us.

Wandera is a seasoned defender who brings valuable experience. They are both very good additions to the squad.”

Akama added that the club is still in the market for more reinforcements, including a goalkeeper, and assured supporters that the Mozzart Bet-backed side will assemble a competitive team for the second half of the season.

“The technical bench is fully in charge of recruitment, and we do not interfere,” he said. “We are looking at a few more players, including a goalkeeper, and I want to assure our fans that we will have a competitive team in the second leg. Our goal is to finish the season in a respectable position.”
