Atletico’s five word response to Barca regarding Alvarez

The former Manchester City striker is high on Barcelona's transfer list
Barcelona is on the rise. The Catalans have all but secured Anthony Gordon’s move from Newcastle for 90 million euros, beating Bayern Munich in the process, and now they are moving forwards. Somehow, they still have the money and they are after Julian Alvarez. Atletico Madrid’s forward is seen as an ideal solution, especially since they lost Robert Lewandowski and have only Ferran Torres as a striker (which is not his natural position). Cholo Simeone’s club gave a lot of money to Manchester City two seasons ago (90 million euros) and are not keen on selling him to Barcelona. So, a five words response came from Madrid: “Julian is not for sale”.
Speaking to Marca, Atletico representatives talked about he whole situation.
"There has been no offer for our player, nor any meeting. We are tired of months of lies, half-truths, harassment of our players in mixed zones, and absurd questions that are all part of a pre-arranged campaign. It's just agent talk. Julian has behaved impeccably at all times, giving his all on the pitch and demonstrating maximum professionalism. We know he didn't cause all this noise; he has always behaved perfectly. Barcelona is behaving like a small-team in this whole Julian affair" they declared.
In the meantime, there were reports that an official offer of 100 million euros has arrived, and Atletico promptly reacted: “It’s another lie”. Even the club’s captain Koke was asked about his teammate and his possible transfer to Barcelona.
"I've been in Menorca with my wife, my phone off, after a very intense year with many matches and many stories, and I've disconnected from my phone. I don't know about any meetings; the only thing I know is that Julian is an Atletico de Madrid player, he has a contract until 2030 and a multi-million euro release clause. That's all I can tell you. Would I be disappointed by Julian? I told you before, Julian is an Atletico de Madrid player. He's a guy who's giving his all, he's been at the club for two years. Ever since he arrived, everyone's been selling him off to Barcelona, and to the other side, and to the other side. And right now he's an Atletico player until he comes out and says otherwise" he said.
