Oduor was formally unveiled to the playing squad during a meeting chaired by the club's board, marking the latest step in Bandari's ongoing restructuring of their technical bench.

"Today the board had a meeting with the players where they formally introduced coach Godfrey Oduor as the club's assistant coach for the upcoming season," a source close to the club, who requested anonymity, told Mozzart Sport.

The experienced tactician will arrive at the Mbaraki-based outfit after a brief spell with Nairobi United, where he guided the newly promoted side to a fourth-place finish before parting ways with the club at the end of last season.

Before joining Nairobi United, Oduor also served as an assistant coach at Harambee Starlets, KCB FC, Jamus SC of South Sudan, coupled with head coach roles at Nzoia Sugar and Kibera Black Stars.

His appointment comes amid sweeping changes at Bandari, who are expected to unveil a new head coach following the departure of Bernard Mwalala.

Although Mwalala oversaw the club's pre-season training sessions last week, the former Kenya international has since left the club, paving the way for a new coach to take charge.

The identity of the incoming head coach is expected to be announced later this week as the Dockers intensify preparations for the new campaign.

Bandari are keen to bounce back after an underwhelming 2025/26 season in which they finished 12th in the 18-team FKF Premier League standings, well below the club's ambitions.

Despite their struggles in the league, the coastal side managed to salvage some pride in the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup, where they secured a bronze-medal finish after winning the third-place playoff.

The appointment of Oduor signals the club's intent to rebuild and mount a stronger challenge in the upcoming season, with the management hoping a revamped technical bench will inspire improved performances and restore Bandari's competitiveness in both domestic league and cup competitions.
