Speaking in an interview with Ramogi Radio, the long-serving administrator explained that the recruitment exercise is aimed at strengthening specific areas of the squad rather than carrying out a complete overhaul.
Gor Mahia are set to compete in the FKF Premier League, the Mozzart Bet Cup and the CAF Champions League, with the club keen on assembling a squad capable of coping with the demanding fixture schedule.
The biggest focus will be on the attacking department after the club identified a lack of cutting edge in front of goal last season.
Gor are expected to bring in three strikers, with the futures of forwards Ebenezer Assifua and Patrick Esombe remaining uncertain as the club seeks to increase its firepower.
The goalkeeping department is also set for a major facelift following the challenges the club encountered after first-choice goalkeeper and Harambee Stars international Byrne Omondi suffered injuries.
The club has reportedly already sealed the signings of Humphrey Katasi from rivals AFC Leopards and National Super League (NSL) Golden Glove winner Michael Onyango from Equity FC to provide greater competition and depth between the posts.
Ngala also revealed that the club will strengthen central defense despite already having experienced options such as Michael Kibwage, Frank Odhiambo and Sylvester Owino.
Two central defenders are expected to arrive, while the club will also reinforce the right-back position.
On the left flank, Gor Mahia are set to recall Mohamed Siraj following his loan spell at KCB as they seek adequate cover for a season expected to feature a heavy workload.
Explaining the thinking behind the recruitment strategy, Ngala stressed that the objective is to improve the squad in key positions without disrupting its core.
"We don't want to overhaul the squad, but we will beef it up. We will remove eight and inject eight more in the areas where we were short. First is the striking department, where we will bring in three players.
In the goalkeeping department, we will strengthen because we felt that when our first-choice goalkeeper was down, we struggled. In defense, we were not badly off, but we will probably make two additions.
At right-back, we will bring in one player, while on the left we will recall Siraj because of the number of matches we are going to play," Ngala said.
To accommodate the incoming signings, Gor Mahia are reportedly set to part ways with Gad Mathews, Levin Odhiambo, Bryson Wangai, Fidel Origa, Geoffrey Ochieng, Elly Owande, Christopher Ochieng and Reagan Ogola.
The record 22-time Kenyan champions are aiming to retain the FKF Premier League title, challenge for Mozzart Bet Cup honours and make a strong impression in the CAF Champions League, making the current transfer window one of the club's most significant in recent years.
