Bayern embarrassed at their own party by the city rivals

In the city of Munich, which has, like many other cities in the world, two football clubs, the tradition is clear – the town’s champion can organize a party at the city’s main square and the city’s major organizes an official reception for the club. In the case of Munich, it has been all Bayern for the last 60 years! The city rival TSV 1860 Munich was crowned as Germany’s champion only once, in 1966. Since then, Bayern won 33 championships while TSV 1860 is currently playing in the third league. But their clever fans somehow managed to organize a major prank and not only spoiled Bayern’s party but were subject of the country’s headlines.

The Bayern players and executives were at the town’s city hall terrace, waiving to their fans, who filled the Marienplatz in order to celebrate and see the Bundesliga trophy. In the middle of the celebration, a huge Bayern flag with the club’s logo appeared and was carried on by the fans. But, instead of "FC Bayern Munich," the banner bore the insult "FC Farmers Sons of Bitches" The number "1860" was also written over the logo in black marker but it was not clearly visible to the fans below. It was actually Manuel Neuer who spotted the whole flag from the terrace and read the sign. He quickly alerted the club’s official speaker who ran the show and he managed to put the banner down.

Bayern break Real Madrid’s all-time record

"Could you quickly pull the tarp back in, because you can't see anything underneath. Please gather it up for a moment" said the speaker but by the time the flag went down, it was already too late. Bayern’s celebration was being broadcasted live on YouTube and everyone saw it, not to mention the numerous photos of the flag which were taken during the party. Bild revealed who it happened. Bayern security was solely responsible for the team, coaching staff, and management, who had arrived by bus behind the city hall. City hall security was only responsible for security inside the city hall and its courtyard. The flag was placed into the crowd of people in the cordoned-off area. Security and fans were deceived by the logo's similarity to the original Bayern Munich crest. A total victory for TSV 1860 Munich fans.
