AC Milan will look to move top of the Serie A table, even if only temporarily, when they travel to the Stadio Ennio Tardini to face struggling Parma on Saturday night.

The Rossoneri are just one point behind league leaders Napoli after ten games, and with their rivals playing later in the weekend, victory here would see them seize the summit. For Parma, however, the objective is simply survival, as Carlos Cuesta’s men continue to battle near the relegation zone following a torrid run of results.

Milan arrive in Emilia-Romagna full of confidence after a statement 1-0 victory over Roma last weekend that kept them firmly in the title race.

It was a classic display of composure and tactical efficiency from Massimiliano Allegri’s men, decided by two pivotal moments: Rafael Leão’s stunning individual run that set up Strahinja Pavlović for the winner, and Mike Maignan’s crucial penalty save to deny Paulo Dybala.

The result extended Milan’s unbeaten streak across all competitions to ten matches (W7, D3), underlining their growing momentum and consistency.

Currently fourth in Serie A but just a single point behind Napoli, the Rossoneri remain very much in the hunt for the Scudetto.

While Allegri has been careful to downplay title talk, his team’s form speaks volumes.

They are four points better off than at this stage last season and remain one of only two teams yet to trail at half-time in Serie A (HT: W4, D6). The blend of experience and youth in this Milan side has provided balance across all departments, with the defensive structure particularly impressive - three clean sheets in their last four league away games.

On the other hand, Parma’s struggles continue to deepen.

Their latest outing, a 3-1 defeat in the Derby dell’Emilia against Bologna, was another bitter pill to swallow.

The Crociati had made the perfect start, taking the lead after just 13 seconds, but Christian Ordoñez’s red card in the first half turned the tide, and Bologna took full advantage to inflict a sixth league defeat of the season.

Cuesta’s men now sit just above the relegation zone with only seven points from ten matches (W1, D4, L5) - their worst Serie A tally at this stage for over a decade.

The core issue has been painfully clear: a lack of firepower.

Parma have scored only five goals this season, the fewest across Europe’s top five leagues, and have failed to find the net in six of their ten matches.

Even at home, their form offers little encouragement, as they remain winless in three league outings at the Tardini (D1, L2), scoring just once in that spell.

Parma’s Serie A form paints a bleak picture: W1, L3, D2 in their last six games.

Their inability to convert promising openings into goals has left them exposed, especially late in matches where concentration often fades. Defensively, they’ve conceded first in seven of their ten league matches, and against a side like Milan that typically start fast, that trend could continue.

Allegri’s Milan, meanwhile, continue to build their reputation as a tactically intelligent and disciplined side.

Their 3-5-2 formation has provided both stability and flexibility, with Pavlović emerging as a key contributor at both ends - scoring early goals and even assisting in late moments.

Milan’s midfield, anchored by the calm influence of Adrien Rabiot and the dynamism of Luka Modric and Samele Ricci, has ensured control in transition phases.

Away from home, they have been particularly effective, unbeaten in four (W2, D2) and conceding just one goal across those matches.

Milan’s squad depth and fitness will be crucial heading into a busy November.

The good news for Allegri is the return of Christian Pulisic, who is set to make his comeback after a short injury layoff.

The American could start on the right wing, partnering the in-form Rafael Leão, who has been electric in recent weeks with four goal involvements in his last four league appearances.

Christopher Nkunku also provides an attacking option, while Santiago Giménez remains unavailable through injury.

At the back, Fikayo Tomori has shaken off a knee problem and should slot back into defence alongside Pavlović and Theo Hernández, with only Rabiot and Giménez ruled out for the trip.

Parma, in contrast, are severely weakened.

Centre-back Alessandro Circati and midfielder Nahuel Estévez both picked up injuries in the defeat to Bologna, while Ordoñez serves a suspension following his dismissal.

The injury list doesn’t end there: Emanuele Valeri, Matija Frigan, Gaetano Oristanio, and wingers Pontus Almqvist and Jacob Ondrejka are all unavailable.

Their thin squad means Cuesta will have to rely on makeshift solutions across the pitch.

Former Milan striker Patrick Cutrone is expected to lead the line alongside Mateo Pellegrino, but given Parma’s lack of attacking efficiency and the quality of Milan’s defence, clear chances are likely to be few and far between.

Milan’s dominance in this fixture is well established.

They have won seven of the last ten Serie A meetings between the two clubs, losing only once - that defeat coming in this very fixture last season when Parma shocked the visitors 2-1.

However, the Rossoneri have since tightened up significantly, with Allegri’s tactical acumen and squad rotation paying dividends.

Key Pointers

Parma have failed to score in a joint-league high six matches this season.

Only two of Parma’s last eight home league fixtures have produced over 2.5 goals.

Milan are unbeaten in ten competitive matches (W7, D3).

Milan have opened the scoring in seven of their ten league games this term.

Milan are one of only two Serie A teams yet to trail at half-time.

Parma have conceded in nine of their ten matches and average 1.8 goals conceded per game

This encounter pits one of Serie A’s most confident sides against one of its most vulnerable.

Milan’s superior form, deeper squad, and tactical control should make the difference against a Parma team struggling for identity and consistency.

Given Parma’s injury crisis, suspension problems, and scoring woes, the visitors will fancy a comfortable evening at the Tardini.

Expect Milan to dominate possession, create the majority of chances, and maintain their defensive record on the road.

However, Parma’s resilience at home and occasional set-piece threat could see them register a consolation effort late on.

With the chance to go top of Serie A and a confident squad firing on all cylinders, AC Milan should have little trouble dispatching a weakened Parma side and keeping their title ambitions firmly alive.

Prediction; AC Milan to Win & Over 2.5 Goals
