Up next for Bidco is another home tie against Murang’a Seal FC.

Bidco United finally managed to beat Bandari FC on their seventh attempt, overcoming the Dockers 2-0 in a league match staged at the Kasarani Annex on Monday afternoon.

The two teams had met six times before, with Bandari winning four of the meetings while the other two ended in stalemates. On Monday, it was a chance for Anthony Akhulia’s men to prove their mettle for their second win of the season.

New signing Shariff Musa opened the scoring after being set up by goalkeeper John Otieno, whose quick restart put the winger through. Nine minutes later, Thomas Wainaina made the most out of a loose ball to double the hosts’ lead.

Bidco United Akhulia was to see the game plan put in place work to his team’s advantage.

“Last time against Police FC, we conceded easy goals, all from individual mistakes, and we went back to try and rectify the mistakes that we made in that game,” he said.

“Today we were a better team in terms of organization; our opponents played as we had anticipated; they always try to start the game on a high, and our strategy was to sit back and contain them. The other plan was to beat them with quick breaks and set pieces, and it worked; we got two goals through them. In the second half, we expected them to push us again, and we adopted a defensive approach and got the job done,” he added.

On his part, Bandari coach Twahir Muhiddin admitted that nothing seemed to work for his team in the entire game and lauded Bidco for being at their best.

“I am not happy with the way that we played. It is the first match that we lacked understanding on the pitch. Our passing was poor, the forwards’ movements were poor, and we did not create chances because our movement up front was not good,” he stated.

“Credit to Bidco; they prepared well for this game, and their plan worked today. They did not give us the space and time to do any buildup, and our players did not implement our plan B in the game because we expected them to play as they did, but we did not react,” he added.

Both teams had chances in the second half of the game but did not make them count, and in the end, it was the home side that walked home with the three points, bouncing back from the loss to Kenya Police FC a week ago. Bandari’s winless run now stretches to three games. They have lost two of their last three, with the other ending in a stalemate.

Up next for Bidco is another home tie against Murang’a Seal FC. Bandari FC, on the other hand, will welcome the limping AFC Leopards to their Mbaraki Sports Club backyard.
