A long-serving coach and instructor, he will be based at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, where he will contribute to analyzing matches and providing insights on tactical trends and player performances throughout the tournament.
The soft-spoken tactician had served as Kenya’s TD for around seven years before exiting in June.
Francis Kimanzi was appointed to replace him and lead the federation’s technical department.
The CAF Technical Study Group is composed of experienced coaches, analysts, and instructors from across the continent.
Their role is to observe and assess the technical progression of teams and players, with the findings to be published on Cafonline.com for the wider football community.
Among the notable members of the group is Pape Bouna Thiaw, who led Senegal to their maiden CHAN title in 2022 and now returns in a technical role.
The team also includes former professionals like Mark Fish of South Africa and Angola’s João Cláudio De Almeida "Miller" Gomes.
With access to modern tools, including video analysis and performance data, the TSG will support CAF in compiling detailed reports that can help guide future coaching and development across African football.
