Conte wants to come back to Juventus in 2024

Current coach Massimiliano Allegri is apparently prepared to leave the club next season, one year before his contract expires

Antonio Conte wants to return to the Juventus bench. That’s the latest news from the Italian media. Four and a half years ago, his wish was not fulfilled, because Andrea Agnelli didn’t allow it. The former president of the Italian giant could not forgive Conte for the sudden resignation in the summer of 2014 and that famous cynical sentence “You cannot go to eat at a 100 euro restaurant with just 10 euro in your pocket, can you?” which was aimed at him and his inability to provide funds for Conte. In the meantime, the entire management was changed in Turin, and only coach Max Allegri remained from Andrea Agnelli's Juventus. The Tuscan expert was not shown the door only because of the gigantic contract that Agnelli gave him until 2025. He could not find a club that would guarantee him the same or higher earnings, and the Old Lady could not afford the luxury to pay Allegri 15,000,000 euros a year without doing anything.

Despite Juve's good, high-scoring start to this season, Allegri is starting to seriously consider leaving Turin next June, a year before his contract expires, regardless of whether he will return the Scudetto to Juventus or not. According to some media reports, Allegri received extremely rich offers from Saudi Arabia, and it is not excluded that some of the big European clubs will also jump at the chance to sign him if he is available. At the same time, Allegri feels that the atmosphere in the club is not what he would like and that the club has no intention of making and medium or long-time projects with him at the helm. The architect of Conte's comeback is Francesco Calvo. He also, like Conte, does not have good memories of Andrea Agnelli, considering that wife divorced him and went on to be with Agnelli.

In several media appearances, Conte emphasized that he regrets the way he parted ways with Juve almost ten years ago. In the meantime, he refused to take over the selection of Italy, as well as Napoli. Rumors circulated that Conte had an agreement with the owners of Roma, the Friedkins, but those rumors were not confirmed. On the other hand, Conte's desire to return to Juve has never been denied, despite the fact that he spent two seasons at Inter. Let's remember, before accepting Inter's offer, he waited several months for Juventus to declare whether they wanted him back or not. Is it time for Conte’s second return? We’ll found out in May, but the Italian is surely ready.
