Tusker FC midfielder Fabian Adikiny has credited head coach Julien Mette for transforming his game after being crowned the club's Most Valuable Player (MVP) following a sensational 2025/26 campaign.
The midfielder emerged as the biggest winner during Tusker's glamorous End-of-Season Gala Awards in Nairobi after playing a pivotal role in one of the club's most successful seasons in recent years.

Adikiny anchored the Brewers' midfield as they ended a decade-long wait for major silverware by lifting the FKF Mozzart Bet Cup.
The triumph also secured qualification for the 2026-2027 CAF Confederation Cup.
The midfielder described the MVP accolade as the reward for months of dedication and sacrifice.
"It is the reward for all the hard work I put in throughout last season. It was a beautiful campaign, and I am grateful that it ended with me being named MVP. I am happy, proud of myself, and motivated to keep improving,” he told Mozzart Sport.
The former Murang’a Seal midfielder attributed his standout performances to discipline, consistency, and the collective effort of his teammates.
"I would say discipline, hard work, and consistency. My teammates have also been incredibly supportive, and I could not have achieved this without them,” he said.
French tactician Julien Mette took charge of Tusker FC in February 2026, replacing Charles Okere following a string of inconsistent FKF Premier League results.
Under Mette, Tusker rediscovered their identity, culminating in a 2-1 victory over Kenya Police FC in the FKF Mozzart Bet Cup final to claim the club's first major trophy in 10 years.
For Adikiny, Mette's influence went far beyond results.
"Coach Julien has played a huge role in my development. He has helped me improve my technical ability and tactical understanding, while also giving me the confidence to express myself on the pitch. He constantly pushes me to work harder, stay disciplined, and remain consistent,” he said.
The midfielder revealed that several areas of his game have improved under the Frenchman.
"My decision-making has improved a lot, as well as my tactical awareness, physicality, confidence on the ball, and ability to read the game. I am still learning every day, and I believe there is always room to get better,” he offered.
Despite enjoying what he considers the finest campaign of his career, Adikiny insists he has not reached his peak.
"Yes, I believe it has been my best season so far because I have seen significant improvement in my game. At the same time, I know I still have a lot more to offer, and I believe my best is yet to come,” he explained.
The 2025-2026 season may have ended with individual and team success, but the midfielder has already set his sights on even greater achievements.
"We already won the Mozzart Bet Cup, so my goal is to help the team defend that title while also winning the FKF Premier League. On a personal level, I want to continue growing both as a footballer and as a person. I am focused on improving on and off the pitch,” he said.
Adikiny also drew inspiration from those closest to him, saying his family continues to drive him to improve every day.
"I still have that fire burning inside me to keep performing and achieving more. My family, especially my mum, motivates me every day. I want to make them proud and continue repaying their support through my performances,” Adikiny said.
When asked to single out the match that best summed up his remarkable season, Adikiny pointed to the FKF Mozzart Bet Cup final.
"The Mozzart Bet Cup final. Winning that trophy after such a long wait for the club made it a very special moment, and it perfectly summed up the hard work we put in throughout the season."
The Brewers are now preparing for the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup in Kigali, Rwanda, where coach Mette will use the regional tournament to fine-tune his squad ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
