K'Ogalo, who came into the match as the most in-form team in the division, were frustrated in a frantic second half to secure their first stalemate of the season, despite having taken an early lead.
Felix Oluoch had given Ulinzi an ominous feel to the game as he scored inside the first six minutes, only for the brave soldiers to equalize through Boniface Muchiri and grind out a point, which was the first under interim coach Stephen Ocholla.

A solid display of character and determination sees the boys pick up a valuable point away to Gor Mahia.

Gor Mahia, who had over the recent weeks looked much akin to the title contenders of old, began as well as many expected when they took an early lead against their maligned opponents, who came into the match on the opposite end of the spectrum - just one league win in the season and on a three-game losing streak that cost their manager.
Having jumped into the lead, the writing was on the wall for the Soldiers, only that they did not show signs of folding, and after making a real threat in the 15th minute, found a way back when Harambee Stars midfielder Muchiri ended a quick counter-attack to level the scores.
Charles Akonnor's side then had to call onto Michael Kibwage to make a clearance in the opening minutes of the second half, before the Ulinzi rearguard got busy in the closing embers to rescue an important point.
Timothy Odhiambo, starting his second straight game after a long time out, repelled Musa Shariff in the 73rd minute, while his opposite number Bryne Odhiambo, was called on late to deny Paul Odhiambo, who attempted a shot in anger.
After appearing to have turned a corner following the Bidco defeat on opening day, Gor Mahia were put on check once again, but will take delight in league-leaders Kakamega Homeboyz also failing to win on Sunday.
Ulinzi, still without a win since late September, are 16th, just two points above bottom-placed APS Bomet, who have a game in hand.
