KCB's wait for a win continued for yet another week after seeing its attack falter in a dour barren draw against Bidco United at Kasarani Annex on Friday, 14 November.

The Bankers came into the game on the back of a poor run of four games without victory, and saw that streak extend to five after seeing his striking force labor on an afternoon they never looked like scoring.

Bidco, on the other hand, were similarly uninspiring, and despite creating better chances, failed to score for their third straight game.

The stalemate, which will be credited to both goalkeepers, left Bidco in sixth place, with Robert Matano's once-famed title contenders lingering in 12th place.

Match Report

Bidco United, perhaps looking to make something count after two barren outings, got out as the better side as Victor Kunyili found himself free at the back post, only to direct Clinton Asiago’s lurking cross over Bonphas Munyasa’s goal.

That attempt would end up to be one of a series of chances for Bidco to threaten a lead, but the lamentations of Akhulia immediately after their Tusker blank last weekend showed up, with none going into the net.

Shortly after Kennedy Odhiambo had been stretchered off with an injury, Idris Amadi rifled a direct free-kick from the left, which Munyasa, unlike his Mathare United gaffe that saw him thrown to the sidelines, palmed away.

Asiago was next in line in the 20th minute, but blasted a layoff from Collins Akite wide, as did Dennis Murunga when he spurned a cross from the left at the backpost.

KCB, underwhelmed in the first half, only saw their half-decent chance fall at Jack Ong'anya in the 42nd minute, but he blasted over from way out.

Having flapped at Bidco opportunities early on, Munyasa was up to his best yet again after the break, as he reacted well to push away a deflected free kick from just outside the box.

Issa Emuria, on the other end, was also busy in a better showing from The Bankers in the second half.

His first piece of action was to deny Richard Omondi seven minutes after the hour-mark, before having his gloves stung by the enterprising Francis Kahiro with little under 20 minutes to play.

Four minutes later, Akite was the description of blunt Bidco as he shot wide from Herman Ngala’s assist, and Akhulia would have been at least content that his side’s shortcomings were not punished.

Omondi, with the last big chance of the game, was denied at point-blank range by Emuria, forcing Matano to cut a frustrated figure at the bench.

Worrying times for his Bankers.
