At the conclusion of the first leg, Kenyan giants Gor Mahia are at the summit of the league table with 33 points, same as their arch-rivals AFC Leopards, with only a three-goal difference separating the two.
Mozzart Sport-sponsored Kakamega Homeboyz and Shabana close the top four with 27 points apiece.
Kariobangi Sharks are still rooted at the bottom of the league with 13 points, and are joined in the relegation zone by Sofapaka and APS Bomet with 14 points each.
Bidco United vs Gor Mahia
League leaders Gor Mahia will have an opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table when they play Bidco United at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani from 1600 hrs.
With the title race heating up, K’Ogalo will consider this match as a must win, especially coming against a side that is in the relegation matrix.
The 21-time record league champions head into the match in fine form, having won three of their last four matches with the other ending in a draw.
The Charles Akonnor-coached side secured a commanding 3-0 win over Mara Sugar to increase the confidence of fans ahead of the second leg.
©Gad IsaacBidco, on the other hand, are on a poor run of form, and in a 12-match winless streak that includes three losses in their last five matches.
However, Bidco will draw encouragement from the fact that one of their three wins this season came against Gor Mahia, a 1-0 victory in their season opener.
Speaking ahead of the match, Akonnor expressed contentment in K’Ogalo’s preparations and ability to win the match.
“We have prepared well for the match. The whole team is ready for the match and everyone is in good shape.
We are aware that Bidco have been better than us lately but we will do all that we can to secure victory in the match,” said Akonnor.
“Our style of play has improved; we move the ball quickly, we do counter pressing and make sure that we control the game."
APS Bomet vs Shabana
At the Kericho Green Stadium, Mozzart Bet-powered APS Bomet will play host to Shabana FC from 1400 hrs.
The law enforcers head into the match on the back of a five-match winless run, including a heartbreaking 2-1 injury time loss to AFC Leopards in their last league match.
©Gad IsaacAPS must utilize their home advantage and secure maximum points to increase their chances of surviving relegation.
Shabana, on the other hand, grabbed their first win of the year in their 1-0 victory over Sofapaka in their last home match.
The two sides met in the season opener, where Shabana won 4-2 to avenge the double that APS had on them in 2022.
Mara Sugar vs Police
Mara Sugar will be targeting to get back to winning ways when they play defending champions Kenya Police FC at the Awendo Green Stadium from 1400 hrs.
The Sugar Millers have not won any of their last five matches, including a 3-0 defeat to Gor Mahia in their last match.
©Gad IsaacCoach Edward Manoah attributed the loss to K’Ogalo to the difference in player quality between the two teams. He will once again face a Police side that has an abundance of quality players.
The law enforcers who are fifth with 25 points, will be targeting a win that will help them keep pace with Gor and Leopards at the summit.
Bandari vs Kariobangi Sharks
At the Coastal city of Mombasa, 10th placed Bandari FC will lock horns with bottom placed Kariobangi Sharks at the KPA Sports Club, Mbaraki from 1400 hrs.
©Gad IsaacBandari are back to their best since the return of coach Benard Mwalala, and have won all their last three matches. Sharks, meanwhile, have won just one of their last 13 matches.
The first leg between the two sides ended in a barren draw, while Bandari have won three of the last five games in this fixture.
Posta Rangers vs Mathare United
In the other match of the day, Posta Rangers will take on Mathare United at Kasarani Annex from 1500 hrs.
11th-placed Posta are on a five-match winless run - including their 1-0 loss to KCB FC in their last match - while The Slum Boys are 12th, and secured a 1-0 victory over Ulinzi Stars in their last match.
