AFC Leopards vs Police FC
Kenyan giants AFC Leopards will renew their title hopes when they take on Police FC at the Nyayo National Stadium from 1500 hrs in what is the biggest highlight of match-week 28.
With Gor Mahia inactive today and taking to the pitch on Sunday, 19 April against Bandari, top spot is up for grabs for Ingwe with seven matches remaining to the end of the season.
Ingwe, who are keen on ending a 28-year-wait for the league title ,head into the match in great form, having won their past four league matches, and kept clean sheets in all of them.
Leopards will be out to make it five consecutive wins for the first time this season even as they continue to escalate the growing possibility of clinching the title.
Coach Fred Ambani will be glad to welcome back vice captain Kayci Odhiambo, his defensive partner Emmanuel Lwangu, Humphrey Katasi and Julius Masaba, all of whom have been on the sidelines for over a month, nursing injuries.
Police, on the other hand, are fourth on the log with 44 points, but despite winning five of their past six league games, are focusing on the Mozzart Bet Cup, with coach Nicholas Muyoti giving up on the possibility of retaining the league title.
Shabana vs Kakamega Homeboyz
Newly appointed Shabana assistant coach Osborne Monday, will be introduced from the deep end as he is expected to lead his charges against Kakamega Homeboyz, just a day after being unveiled at the Kisii-based outfit.
Monday parted ways with Murang'a Seal early in the week, before making a return to Shabana, and will be out to return them to winning ways and form, having lost four of their past five matches.
They will be up against a Homeboyz side that still has hopes of clinching what would be their maiden title.
Tusker vs Sofapaka
At the Wang’uru Stadium in Embu, 12-time league champions Tusker FC will face bottom placed Sofapaka from 1500 hrs.
Having slayed league leaders Gor Mahia in midweek to get back to winning ways after back to back losses, The Brewers will be out to secure another win against Sofapaka, a match coach Julien Mette is well aware will not be easy, even as he explained the constraints that come with the pitch
“I do not expect a lot of surprises. They are going to fight and involve themselves in the duels. The pitch in Mwea does not allow for teams to play a lot of passes and so we are going to face more long balls, set pieces and direct attacks, something I have made my team aware of. Having gotten all the points against Gor Mahia and Homeboyz; teams in the top five, we should be able to grab a win over Sofapaka if we are to deserve a place in the top four or three,” said Mette.
Matchday.

Mathare United vs Bidco United
At the Kasarani Annex, Mathare United will play host to Bidco United from 1400 hrs in a match that will have an impact in the relegation battle.
The Slum Boys are 12th on the log with 31 points, putting them in the relegation matrix, and will be keen to arrest their three-match winless run with victory over Bidco.
The Oilers sit in the relegation zone having won just one of their past 22 league games, with back-to-back losses in their last two games. They must secure a win if they are to remain in the league.
Kariobangi Sharks vs Mara Sugar
The first match of the day will take place at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani where Kariobangi Sharks will be facing Mara Sugar from 1300 hrs.
With 26 points to their name, Sharks will be keen to move closer to safety with a win over The Sugar Millers, who will be as good as having retained their league status with a win over Sharks.
KCB FC vs Ulinzi Stars
2024 Mozzart Bet Cup finalists KCB FC will battle military side Ulinzi Stars from 1600 hrs in the second match of the Kasarani double header.
Placed sixth, The Bankers will be seeking a win that would propel them top five, while Ulinzi will want to move clear of APS in the relegation zone as the fight for survival continues.
