Former AFC Leopards goalkeeper Levis Opiyo has been unveiled by Zambia Super League (ZSL) giants ZESCO United as part of their squad reinforcement ahead of continental and domestic action.

The Ndola-based outfit confirmed the signing of three new players, Opiyo, Emmanuel Mwanza and Luka Mutoshi, as they bolster their squad for the CAF Confederation Cup and the MTN Super League.
ZESCO announced the acquisitions via their official social media platforms, describing the signings as a statement of intent ahead of their crucial CAF Confederation Cup clash against South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs.
Opiyo, 30, joins the Ndola giants from Kenyan top-flight side Bandari. The experienced goalkeeper has previously featured for Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
Striker Mwanza and defensive midfielder Mutoshi have joined the club on loan from Kafue Celtic. Mwanza is a former Nkana FC forward, while Mutoshi spent last season with Nkwazi.
“ZESCO United Football Club is proud to unveil Emmanuel Mwanza, Luka Mutoshi and Opiyo Levis Omondi as the newest members of the Ndola Giants family,” read part of the club’s statement.
“The trio brings fresh energy, hunger and quality as we strengthen the squad ahead of our massive CAF Confederation Cup clash against Kaizer Chiefs. This is a clear statement of intent,ZESCO is ready to compete, fight and shine on the continental stage.”

The club highlighted the specific qualities each player adds, noting that Mwanza brings pace and creativity, Mutoshi offers composure and tactical discipline, while Opiyo injects experience and leadership into the squad.
Opiyo’s move further strengthens the long-standing link between Kenyan footballers and ZESCO United.
The Ndola club has previously been home to several Kenyan players who enjoyed successful spells, including Vincent Oburu, John Makwata, goalkeeper Ian Otieno, Anthony Akumu, David Owino and all-time top scorer Jesse Were.
