Jose Mourinho's side beat Lecce 2-1 in a dramatic fashion after coming from behind

Jose Mourinho's Roma clinched an important Serie A 2-1 win against Lecce on Sunday night thanks to a dramatic stoppage-time comeback. Romelu Lukaku saw a penalty saved, then Sardar Azmoun and the Belgian striker turned Lecce around with two late goals.

It was a dramatic start to the match, as within the opening minute, Dybala's shot was deflected off Baschirotto and a penalty was awarded following the VAR on-field review. Lukaku stepped up, but for the first time in Italy after 14 consecutive attempts, he failed to convert, seeing his shot being denied by Falcone.

Dybala had two dangerous volleys in the same move, the first charged down, the second flashing inches wide of the near post.

It was Lecce who finally broke the deadlock on the counter-attack as Banda dashed down the left, cut back inside, finding Pontus Almqvist to sweep in from 12 yards.

However, Roma were not in the mood to surrender, as Mou's side kept pushing and finally got its equalizer in the added time. Zalewski flew down the left, and his cross went over Belotti but found the head of Azmoun for his first goal in the Giallorossi jersey.

A few moments later, Dybala surged through the centre and threaded through. Lukaku used his strength to turn one defender, send another to the ground and fire in the winner from eight yards.
