The win extended their unbeaten run to six matches, a streak that has stood firm since their opening-day 1–0 loss to Bidco United

Record Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions Gor Mahia recorded a sharp decline in gate revenue during their 1–0 win over Tusker FC, despite maintaining their strong run of form on the pitch.

In an update posted on the club’s official platforms, K’Ogalo announced that they had collected Ksh827,200 from ticket sales during the tightly contested encounter at Kasarani Stadium.

This figure represents a significant drop of Ksh496,600 from their previous home fixture against Ulinzi Stars, where the club banked Ksh1,323,800 in their one-all draw with the Soldiers as they yet again failed to hit a million mark in ticket collection.

The club further revealed that a total of 2,297 tickets were sold.

Of these, 702 were purchased through the early bird option, 15 were sold under the VVIP category, 70 were bought as VIP tickets, 592 were sold as regular tickets, while 918 additional regular tickets were purchased at the stadium gates on matchday.

Supporters also contributed Ksh27,000 through the club’s paybill number.

Treasurer Gerphas Okuku expressed gratitude to the fans for their continued loyalty, urging them to maintain the support despite the dip in revenue.

“We managed to collect Ksh827,200 from our today’s match against Tusker FC. We appreciate all fans for the support always and urge all to continue with the same spirit," read the statement.

Despite the underwhelming financial returns, Gor Mahia delivered a decisive performance on the field to keep their title charge on track.

The match was settled by a costly miscalculation from Tusker goalkeeper Brian Opondo, who mistimed his approach to a back pass from Tom Teka, inadvertently guiding the ball into his own net.

The own goal proved enough for the 21-time champions to secure all three points in a closely battled clash at Kasarani Stadium

The victory lifted the Charles Aknoor-coached side to 19 points, solidifying their position at the summit of the 18-team FKF Premier League and opening a four-point gap over their closest challengers, with a game in hand still to be played.

The win also extended their unbeaten run to six matches, a streak that has stood firm since their opening-day 1–0 loss to Bidco United.
