After a long season that lasted nine months, the curtains close on the FKF Premier League 2025/26 season today, Sunday, 31 May, with the coronation of Gor Mahia as champions headlining a total of nine matches that will all be played today from 1500 hrs.
Gor Mahia face Nairobi United; AFC Leopards take on Bidco United, Shabana entertain KCB FC, Police FC battle Kakamega Homeboyz, Kariobangi Sharks lock horns with Sofapaka, Mathare United tussle with Bandari FC, Murang’a Seal face Mara Sugar, Posta Rangers battle Ulinzi Stars, while Tusker FC go head-to-head with APS Bomet.
Ahead of today's games, Gor Mahia have already been declared champions and, with 69 points, enjoy a five-point gap at the top over second-placed AFC Leopards, while Police FC complete the top three with a distant 54 points.
At the other end of the table, Sofapaka FC and Bidco United, with 19 and 24 points respectively, have already bid goodbye to the top tier as they head to the National Super League and await which team will join them in facing the chop between Kariobangi Sharks in the relegation zone with 33 points, and Ulinzi Stars and Mathare United with 38 points apiece.
Gor Mahia vs Nairobi United
Gor Mahia will be crowned 2025/26 league champions at Nyayo National Stadium after their highly anticipated match against Nairobi United.
After losing last season’s title to Police FC in a season in which they went trophyless, having also lost the prestigious Mozzart Bet Cup to Nairobi United, K’Ogalo showed greater determination and class than the rest this season and have successfully regained the league title, winning it for a record 22nd time.
In a season where arch-rivals AFC Leopards gave them a run for their money, K’Ogalo were eventually declared champions with two matches to spare following Leopards’ 2-1 loss to Mozzart Bet-backed APS Bomet.
The Green Army is expected to fill Nyayo Stadium and paint it in their famous green and white colours as they celebrate a return to continental football.
However, before the coronation, they will renew their rivalry with league newcomers Nairobi United in what is expected to be a high-octane match at a packed Nyayo Stadium.
While the two sides have only met twice in their history, both matches were eventful, with Naibois defeating K’Ogalo in the 2025 Mozzart Bet Cup final, while the first-leg league meeting between the two sides was abandoned due to crowd trouble in the second half with the score tied at 1-1.
AFC Leopards vs Bidco United
Kenyan giants AFC Leopards will take to the pitch at Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang’ata, where they face relegation-bound Bidco United in the latter’s final FKF Premier League match before dropping to the NSL.
Leopards will be aiming to finish the league campaign in the best possible manner after an improved performance this season that saw them compete for the title until their penultimate match.

While Ingwe suffered heartbreak and must wait at least another year to end their title drought, the club can take pride in its performance this season and will want to mark it with victory over Bidco United.
The Oilers, on the other hand, will want to bid goodbye to the league with a win over the 13-time champions.
Shabana vs KCB FC
With Gusii Stadium unavailable due to upgrading works, Shabana will host their final match of the season against KCB FC at Awendo Green Stadium.
The Glamour Boys head into the match sitting fourth on the league table with 52 points, two behind third-placed Police FC, whom they will seek to leapfrog if they win and Police lose their final match.
KCB, on the other hand, are seventh in the league with 45 points, a position they will be seeking to secure in what has once again been a disappointing season for the Bankers.
Police FC vs Kakamega Homeboyz
Outgoing champions Police FC will battle Mozzart Bet-sponsored Kakamega Homeboyz at Police Sacco Stadium to close out an underwhelming league campaign.
The law enforcers fell short of the standards that won them the 2024/25 league title but will have a chance to redeem their season when they face Tusker in the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup final slated for 14 June. They will use the Homeboyz clash as part of their preparations for that match.
Homeboyz, on the other hand, are sixth on the league table with 48 points and have a chance to move up a place if they collect all three points.
Tusker FC vs APS Bomet
APS Bomet will have another chance to bag KSh1.85 million when they face Tusker FC in an away match at Wang’uru Stadium.
The law enforcers are currently the most in-form side in the league, having won their last seven league matches and are on a 10-match unbeaten run that lifted them out of the relegation zone to 12th on the table with 43 points, one point and one place behind Tusker, who will be using the match to prepare for the cup final against Police FC.
Relegation battle
With one more team expected to face the drop at the end of the day, the relegation battle has been left to Kariobangi Sharks in the relegation zone with 35 points, as well as Mathare United and Ulinzi Stars with 38 points apiece.
For Sharks to survive, they must win their match against Sofapaka at Utalii Grounds and hope that either Ulinzi Stars or Mathare United fail to win their respective matches.
For Ulinzi and Mathare, both will need at least a point from their matches against Posta Rangers and Bandari FC respectively to confirm their place in the top tier next season.
