The two most storied clubs in the land will lock horns for the 99th time on Sunday, 26 April at the Nyayo National Stadium from 1500 hrs.

As is the nature of derbies the world over, bragging rights are at stake, but more significantly this time round, the match will have a profound effect on the FKF Premier League title race.

Speaking during the team’s training session at the Kasarani Annex, Musa, who is expected to play an integral part for K’Ogalo in the match, had a message to the team's faithful.

"The derby is one of the most important and big games in East Africa, and we urge fans to turn up in large numbers and rally behind the team,” said Musa.

On his part, defender Frank Odhiambo chose to view the match through the lens of the title race that continues to heat up.

“It is a really important game considering the position of the two teams at the top of the table. I know the players are energised and full of motivation and really want to get to Sunday and hopefully get something from the match,” said Odhiambo.

“We are keen to get good results that would get us back to winning ways,” he added.

K’Ogalo will be under pressure to secure a win in the match, even as they approach it while enduring a poor run of form, having failed to win any of their last three matches.

The Charles Akonnor-coached side have also failed to find the back of the net in their past three matches for the first time this season, a matter that has made both the fans and the technical bench worried.

Ahead of the Sunday afternoon clash, Gor are at the summit of the league table with 58 points, just three more than AFC Leopards. A win for the 21-time champions would increase their lead to six points.
