Kamau, 20, was announced as a new Jersey Bulls player on Friday, 10 July, stating that he had been with the club all through pre-season.

“We’re delighted to welcome Sammy Henia-Kamau back to Jersey Bulls!” the community-based club that plays in the Isthmian League South Central Division (which is the eighth tier of the English football league system), posted on their timelines. "Henia-Kamau has been training with the squad throughout pre-season, as he begins his second spell in Bulls colours.”

Kamau’s previous time at Jersey Bulls came back in 2021, the period he is tracked to have begun his footballing career.

In the 2021/22 season with the club, Kamau netted 20 goals in 15 matches for the Under-16s, and added six more for the Under-18s.

His standout performances earned him the prestigious Sid Guy Award at the Jersey FA Centre of Excellence in 2022.

Following his spell at Jersey Bulls, the striker born to an English mother and a Kenyan father joined Swansea City on a scholarship in July 2023, and later signed his first professional deal in July 2024.

There, Kamau featured at both the U18 and U21 levels, before earning his move to Hull City’s U21 side, following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.

Having seen his Premier League dream shattered at the beginning of June, the Kenyan is now on a path of rebuilding himself, to get closer to the big leagues.

As a sign of intent, Kamau has already got up and running, and was on target for Bulls as they registered a 5-1 pre-season victory over Dulwich Hamlet at Springfield Stadium on Saturday, 11 July.
