Harambee Stars midfielder Alwayn Tera helped his side, Ararat-Armenia, secure a 2-1 win over win over Ararat-Yereven in an Armenian Premier League clash, played on Friday.
The two league giants locked horns at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium, with Tera and his teammates securing the bragging rights.

Going into the match, Armenia were second on the league table with 28 points, a tally similar to that of Alershket, but the latter had a superior goal difference, while the former had a game in hand.
Yerevan, on the other hand, have had a poor season, as they have only three points from 14 matches, a run which has kept them at the bottom of the league.

With the match proving important for Ararat Armenia, as far as the leahue title race is concerned, they named a strong starting line up, that included Tera in the double pivot role alongside Colombia’s Juan Balanta.
The 28-year-old, who was returning to the starting 11 after being an unused substitute in the last two games, was impressive for his side, playing 83 minutes before being replaced by Brazilian Welton for his team’s last change of the day.
Ararat Armenia took the lead through Armen Ambartsumyan in the 43rd minute after he was put through on goal by Artur Serobyan.
Armenia doubled their lead in the 62nd minute through Portuguese Hugo Oliveira, while the hosts got a consolation through Ivory Coast’s Yaya Sogodogo’s 84th minute strike.
With the result, Armenia shot to the top of the league with 31 points, three more than Alershket who took to the field on Saturday 22 November against Noah, all having played 13 matches.
Armenia are keen on winning the league for the first time since 2020 and make a return to Champions League football.
The Kenyan international will be hoping to get more playing time and help his team achieve its targets, even as he continues with the search for his first goal of the season.
