Wilson, a former Kariobangi Sharks player, is currently featuring for AIK in the Swedish Allsvenskan, where he has adapted into a deeper role, operating mainly as an inverted full-back.
Despite being naturally a central midfielder, he has thrived in the position, registering one assist this season while becoming a key part of his team’s build-up play.
His rise has been further highlighted by his leadership background at the international youth level, having captained both Kenya U18 and U20 national teams. He has also previously earned a call-up to the senior national team, although he is yet to make his official debut.
Bocsák, who is widely known for his analysis on youth development and emerging football talents across Europe, showered praise on the 19-year-old for his technical quality, tactical intelligence, and versatility while assessing his performances for Swedish side AIK Fotboll.
According to Bocsák, Wilson is “one of the best progressive passers playing outside Europe’s top five leagues at the moment,” with the young Kenyan “absolutely flourishing” in his current role at AIK.
The analyst further praised his technical ability, noting that Wilson is “very gifted technically and so calm under pressure,” while adding that he “weighs his passes to perfection” and plays a crucial role in helping his side progress into the final third.
Wilson’s statistical output has also backed up the growing hype, with the youngster ranking among the top progressive passers in Sweden and consistently influencing AIK’s attacking transitions from deep positions.
Bocsák also highlighted his tactical intelligence and suitability for higher-level systems, stating that Wilson “would be a wonderful fit for a team like Ajax, for example,” before adding that if his development continues, he “can envision him in the Premier League one day.”
He even pointed to clubs known for developing young talent, suggesting that “someone like Brighton should already be looking at him,” given their track record of identifying and nurturing emerging players with high technical and tactical ceilings.
Wilson joined AIK in August 2024 on a three-year deal running until December 2027 and has quickly established himself as a regular starter for the Swedish side.
The Kenyan midfielder has already featured in six Allsvenskan matches this season, with AIK currently sitting eighth on six points in the 16-team league standings.
With his stock rising steadily in Europe, Wilson is now viewed as one of Kenya’s most promising young exports, and his trajectory suggests a potential move to one of Europe’s top leagues could be on the horizon if his development continues at the same pace.
