Zoo FC will be hoping to extend their four year stay in the top tier by maximizing the suspension of sporting activities to sharpen their rough edges.
Zoo FC is using the pause in all sporting activities in the country to fine-tune their Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season and plot their survival.
The Kericho-based side is currently anchored to the foot of the table having had a disastrous start to the season that saw them claim their first win after 11 games.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Zoo head coach Herman Iswekha noted that he will treat the halt in sporting activities as a pre-season to inspire his side to a great escape.
“I plan to push my players to have some gym sessions, we struggled after starting the season late which means we did not have a good pre-season, I will maximize this opportunity to get the boys in shape,”
“I have confidence I will restart the season in better shape and will not be caught flat foot again, I also plan to work on my finishing because we were poor in that department we created a number of chances but failed to convert and also tighten my defense,” said Iswekha.

Zoo had started to gather some pace before the league was halted having just lost one of their last five games and picked up a point against title-chasing KCB last time out.
Iswekha like every other coach in the league is dejected to see the league take a break and fears their recent impressive form will be hard to replicate.
“We have paused team training for some time but we will be doing intense individual training thrice a week, but I’m really disappointed because my team had started getting better, I fear that we will drop the form when football returns.”
“My team is mostly comprised of young players and I felt that they had started getting some experience in the league,” said Iswekha.
When the league resumes, Zoo will be taking on Ulinzi Stars who are struggling for form having gone winless in their last four games.
