Juve monitoring Marseille's striker

The Turin giant could go after Greenwood but only under certain conditions

Juventus FC are already thinking seriously about next season, although—unlike AC Milan—they still need to fight to secure fourth place, as Como 1907 and AS Roma are not giving up. Qualification for the Champions League will determine a series of deals the “Old Lady” plans to pursue in England. The top target for the Turin club is Bernardo Silva. The Manchester City player is nearing the end of his contract and represents a valuable opportunity—despite being 32, he can still perform at a high level for another two or three years. The main obstacle is his salary, which Juventus can only justify if they secure Champions League football. Silva isn’t the only City player on Juventus’ radar. John Stones could join him, as his contract is also expiring and is unlikely to be renewed. But there is another striker who is of interest, and he was playing in the Premier League too.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marseille may be forced to sell players due to financial reasons, if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. They are currently in terrible form since the arrival of Habib Beye as coach and had only one win out of the last five games. Three games before the end of the season, Marseille is four points away from the Champions League qualifying spot. If they fail, the Italian newspapers claims that Mason Greenwood would be Juventus’ target. Greenwood has played 42 games in all competitions for the French giants so far this season, scoring 25 goals and providing 10 assists. If he was about to leave, Marseille would expect at least 43 million pounds for him, but the big question is does Juventus has that kind of cash for one player. One of the reasons for such a price is a sell-on clause which the French club agreed with Manchester United, who will earn money wherever the player ends up.
