The experienced forward is anticipated to improve Homeboyz's attack, which has witnessed a prolonged goal drought dating back to three months since Nicolas Kipkirui scored against Nzoia Sugar on 15 May 2024.
Wangi revealed his excitement about joining Homeboyz in an interview with Mozzart Sport after signing the contract: "I am thrilled to join Kakamega Homeboyz, one of the best clubs in the country, and I can't wait to get started," said the ex-Vipers SC attacker.
The former Uganda Cranes striker adds that he is a man with a purpose, hoping to win silverware with the 2023 Mozzart Bet Cup winners.
"I am a man on a mission, and I am here to make and create history at the club by at least winning either the FKF Premier League title or the Mozzart Bet Cup during my stint at the club," the player said.
Coach Ken Kenyatta, for his part, expressed optimism that Wangi will offer depth to the striking department.
"I am pleased we have finally completed the acquisition. We've been short on the final third, and I'm convinced he will give us a much-needed boost," he opined.
Muzeei, as he is generally known, won the Startimes Uganda Premier League with Vipers SC in 2018, the Uganda Cup with SC Villa in 2016, and the U-20 CECAFA Kagame Cup with Uganda Hippos.
Aside from Sports Club Villa and Vipers Sports Club, Wangi has previously played for Express, Police FC, and Sun Rise City of Rwanda.
He becomes AbanaBeingo's sixth signing of the current transfer window, joining Isaiah Wakasala, Ben Stanley Omondi, Alvin Ochieng, Boniface Onyango, and Gabriel Wandera.
