Kenya Police Bullets, Ulinzi Starlets ease to FKF Women's Cup last 16, KISPED sneak in

Women National Super League side KISPED Queens secured a spot in the FKF Women’s Cup last 16 Sunday 18 February after seeing out hosts Makolanders on post-match penalties in a preliminary rounds game played at Ruaraka Grounds, Nairobi.

KISPED led early in the 15th minute through Linda Ajwang, but found themselves trailing in the second half after two quick strikes from Hellen Aguvaya and Joyline Origi gave Makolanders a 2-1 lead.

Asha Achieng had other plans when she connected on a freekick to level the game, sending it to post-match penalties after a 2-2 draw in regular time.

KISPED eventually emerged victorious, winning 5-4.

Elsewhere at Embu Stadium, Premier League side and leaders Kenya Police Bullets began their trophy hunt on a high, dismantling Embu Queens 8-0 to proceed to the second round.

In the contest, Mercy Masika secured a brace, with the other goals coming from Mercy Njeri, Diana Wacera, Lydia Waganda, Lucy Kwekwe, Winnie Gwatenda and Yasmin Khalid sealing the deal.

Holders Ulinzi Starlets on the other hand made light work of visiting TUK Ravens, riding on the back of a Neddy Atieno brace to win 6-0.

Ulinzi’s other goals were scored by Cindy Ngairah, Eve Juma, Joy Kinglady and Lucy Nato.

With the preliminary rounds done, last 16 action will follow on 6-7 April.
