Kenya Police FC have dismissed coach Dusan Stojanovic following a 1-1 draw against Mara Sugar FC at the Police Sacco Grounds on Wednesday, with his assistant Nicholas Muyoti expected to take over.

The Serbian’s exit comes just two months after his appointment as Police FC boss. Stojanovic was hired on November 2, 2025, replacing title-winning coach Etienne Ndiyaragijje, but after only 73 days, he has been relieved of his duties.

The former SC Villa coach had been under pressure in recent weeks, with Police securing just one win in their last seven matches. Wednesday’s draw proved decisive: an early goal from Yves Koutiama was canceled out by Joseph Okwenda, leaving the points shared and marking the end of Stojanovic’s chapter with the club.

The result also halted Police’s bid to move to close to the top of the table and strengthen their title defense. The club now sits fifth with 24 points, six behind leaders AFC Leopards, though they still have a game in hand against Bandari FC in Mombasa.

In his post-match interview on Wednesday, Stojanovic dismissed suggestions that he was under pressure, unaware of what was about to unfold hours later.

When asked if he felt the pressure, the Serbian smiled and replied: “No pressure. No pressure. Guys, this is football. This is the game, and facts are facts. We are still in the race to defend the trophy. Yes, we are, because the gap is not too big, just two or three games, and you’re there.

Stojanovic is not the only member of the technical team to depart. Team manager Charles Omondi and goalkeepers coach Michael Manga have also been let go, although Manga has previously returned to the club after similar exits.

Coach Muyoti is expected to name his backroom staff, with speculation that he may bring in some of the coaches he worked with at Nairobi United to help steer Kenya Police FC forward.

Muyoti, a former Kenyan international, led Nairobi United to a historic double last season, winning the National Super League to secure promotion to the Premier League and then defeating Gor Mahia in the Mozzart Bet Cup final to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup, where the club is now competing in the group stage, matching Gor Mahia’s continental feat.

The former midfielder has also previously coached Thika United, Oserian FC, Nzoia Sugar FC, Kakamega Homeboyz FC, and Nairobi City Stars.
