Kenya is set to co-host the 2027 edition of the continental tourney alongside neighbours Tanzania and Uganda after the three successfully won the rights in a bid dubbed PAMOJA (Swahili word for together)
To successfully host the tournament, Kenya is not only improving its sporting infrastructure in terms of stadia but also auxiliary facilities.
“In Kenya, the games will be hosted at Nyayo National Stadium, Talanta Sports City Stadium and Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Nyayo National Stadium is designated as a training centre during the tournament because of its central position.
One of the key initiatives being undertaken includes the provision of an effective transport solution that will ensure easy access to and from the venues of the Soccer event,” reads a statement from Kenya Railways.

The state agency went ahead to lay down the plans to expand the railway line around key sporting infrastructure.
“The Government intends to construct a railway station adjacent to Nyayo National Stadium and a railway spur line from the Nairobi Central station through the Nyayo National Stadium area, Kibera to Talanta Sports City Stadium.
This line will guarantee commuters a safe, reliable and affordable transport option, thus ensuring ease of movement,” the statement continues.
In order to realise this target, the Corporation has encouraged premises sitting on designated railway land across the corridor to comply with an earlier issued vacation notice, as demolition awaits.
“All encroachers were advised and issued with notices in good time to vacate the railway corridor to pave the way for the construction of the station and spur line.
Kenya Railways is in the process of evicting all encroachers as we repossess all the land that has been identified for the above mentioned development.
Therefore, take note that any illegal structures/property found on the corridor will be demolished and/or removed without further notice and at the encroacher's risk and cost.”
