The Kenyan academy completed a remarkable unbeaten campaign by defeating Sweden's Lerums IS 1-0 in the final played on Saturday, 18 July in Gothenburg.
David Jesse's 10th-minute strike was enough to secure one of the biggest achievements ever by an East African youth football team.
The victory capped off a dominant tournament for the Nairobi-based academy, which swept aside opponents from the group stage to the knockout rounds, on their way to lifting the prestigious trophy.
Legacy were drawn in Group 13 alongside IFK Nykoping 1, Solangens BK, Virestad IF, and IF Centern Vit, and immediately stamped their authority on the competition.
They opened their campaign with a convincing 4-0 victory over IF Centern Vit on Monday, 13 July, before dismantling Solangens BK 7-1 the following day. Their attacking prowess continued with a resounding 7-0 victory over IFK Nykoping 1, before wrapping up the group stage with a 3-0 win over Virestad IF on Wednesday, 15 July.
Having comfortably progressed to the knockout rounds, Legacy maintained their momentum by defeating Argentina's CEF 18 Tucuman 3-1 in the quarterfinals.
They then produced another commanding display to beat Ghana's ProGen FC 3-0 in the semifinals, setting up a showdown against Swedish outfit Lerums IS.
Playing in front of a home crowd supporting the hosts, Legacy showed composure beyond their years.
Jesse found the breakthrough in the 10th minute, and the Kenyan youngsters held firm for the remainder of the contest to seal a famous victory and spark jubilant celebrations.
The triumph was built on a potent attack throughout the tournament, with Solomon Velenga finishing as the team's leading scorer with nine goals. Jesse added seven goals, including the title-winning strike in the final, while Vincent Fredrick contributed five goals in the memorable campaign.
Legacy's success was not limited to the Under-14 side, with several of the academy's teams also enjoying impressive outings in Sweden.
The Under-13 team topped their group after recording four wins, one draw, and just one defeat. Brivon Nyandika, Jack Weko, and Gavin Okech emerged as the side's leading scorers during the tournament.
The Under-12 boys finished second in their group on six points, with Mwangi Njenga, Zandro Obiero, and Elijah Luusa leading the scoring charts for the team.
Meanwhile, the Under-16 side also secured a second-place finish in their group after winning two matches and losing two. Innocent Media, Mohammed Mbemba, and Cyril Obiero finished as the team's top scorers.
Legacy's historic achievement comes on one of the biggest stages in youth football.
The Gothia Cup, first held in 1975 and organized by Swedish club BK Häcken, is widely regarded as the world's largest and most international youth football tournament.
Every year, thousands of young footballers from across the globe converge on Gothenburg for the week-long competition, which has become known as the "World Youth Cup."
This year's edition set a new participation record, attracting 1,956 teams from 78 countries, with more than 45,300 players and team officials taking part. More than 4,500 matches were played across approximately 110 pitches throughout the Gothenburg metropolitan area.
