In their unveiling of the signing, Cádiz fell short of revealing the length of the contract but noted that the fast-rising midfielder would bolster their reserve team.

"Cádiz Club de Fútbol and KCB of Kenya have reached an agreement for the incorporation of Jack On'Ganya into Cádiz CF Mirandilla.

Kenyan midfielder comes to reinforce the midfield of the yellow reserve team. The Club welcomes Jack and wishes him the best of luck in his new chapter," read the short statement.

The highly rated midfielder's deal marks a major milestone in his young career and makes him the latest Kenyan player to secure a move to Europe.

On'ganya’s transfer comes barely four months after he impressed during a trial stint at the club.

The former Green Commandos playmaker travelled to Spain in October 2025, where he spent two weeks training with the Segunda DivisiĂłn side, catching the attention of the technical bench.

Following successful negotiations, Cádiz CF moved swiftly to secure his services, underlining their confidence in the Kenyan youngster’s potential.

On'ganya’s career trajectory has been nothing short of remarkable, a steady rise that has taken barely two seasons to capture attention in Kenyan football circles.

The lanky midfielder made a significant leap in his development when he joined Sofapaka FC at the start of the 2024/25 FKF Premier League season shortly after his high school studies, quickly establishing himself as a pivotal figure in the Batoto ba Mungu's midfield.

Throughout his maiden top-flight season, On'ganya was a model of consistency, clocking 2,880 minutes across 32 league appearances, contributing eight goals and four assists.

His efforts were instrumental in steering Sofapaka to a respectable seventh-place finish in the league standings, a notable achievement for a side that had battled relegation the previous campaign, relying on playoffs to maintain its FKF Premier League status.

On'ganya firmly cemented his status as one of the most promising emerging talents in the FKF Premier League.

Among his standout performances, one match has etched itself in fans’ memories. Against Tusker FC, Onganya produced a breathtaking display, scoring a hat-trick to inspire Sofapaka to a resounding 7-1 whitewashing triumph over the 12-time league champions.

The performance not only highlighted his attacking prowess but also his ability to influence games at the highest level, earning him widespread recognition and a subsequent trial with a Spanish side.

Before his move to Spain, On'ganya’s fast-rising profile continued into the 2025/26 season, following his move to KCB, where he has been a regular starter under the stewardship of four-time title-winning coach Robert Matano.
