Killed by their own weapon: Estevao hands Liverpool a late death!

Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in one of the most exciting games of the Premier League season so far
And it started so fairytaileish for the Reds...
Liverpool have recorded their third Premier League loss in a row, and just like against Crystal Palace, they were knocked out in the stoppage time!
Chelsea celebrated a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge thanks to a 90+5-minute goal by their Brazilian teenager, Estevao, who scored his first EPL goal for such an important victory.
Moises Caicedo's fantastic opener showed us we're about to witness a night to remember. The shaken visitors managed to respond with a lovely Cody Gakpo equaliser around the hour mark, but those ultimate seconds of the match - that were previously Liverpool's time to shine - proved to be lethal for Arne Slot's men as Estevao scored the winner and kickstarted an ecstatic celebration.

Straight from the start, it was blatantly clear that the hosts were eager to knock out the defending champion, putting extra pressure on Liverpool's two key attacking forces: Mo Salah and Alexander Isak.
Isolated and misplaced, Slot's forward duo was the shadow of their former self as the Blues imposed their own style and domination on the pitch.
Interestingly, it resulted in a single shot on target in the opening 45 minutes, but that one was more than enough - it was a proper belter!

Moises Caicedo, the man Liverpool once tried to make their record signing, broke the deadlock with an absolute screamer from mid-range, killing the spider under the crossbar.
Giorgi Mamardashvili had a nightmare EPL debut, although there was nothing the new Reds' custodian could do to stop this breathtaking shot.
A very frustrating first half for the Premier League champions was sealed with Alejandro Garnacho's chance, as he fired nicely from the edge of the box but it went just wide.
Arne Slot was in despair on the touchline and reacted promptly by subbing off Conor Bradley, Milos Kerkez and Ibrahima Konate. Yes, the forwards were struggling, but it was a lousy day at the office for Liverpool defenders, too.

One of the guys who came on, Florian Wirtz, almost set up a goal with his sensational first touch a few seconds into the second half. Wirtz's touch was a masterpiece, a true artistic move, as he provided Salah with a perfect ball, but the Egyptian fired badly with his right foot.
Wirtz's magician trick seemed to have influenced his teammate, Alexander Isak. The Swedish attacker ensured Cody Gakpo got another one on the plate like Salah before him, with a much different outcome - Gakpo buried it superbly to level the score, 1-1.
Unlike his counterpart, Maresca made two substitutions due to the injuries of both of his central defenders, Badiashile and Acheampong.
The home side found some new energy and was close to restoring the lead, which would have happened if it hadn't been for Mamardashvili. Khvicha's compatriot showed his impressive class by denying Estevao's and Gittens' excellent shots in the span of just a few moments.
Caicedo joined the cavalry with another attempt, before Enzo Fernandes' header ended on the wrong side of the woodwork (at least, if you ask the Blues).
And then, just when we thought this spectacle would end in a draw, Cucurrella crossed it beautifuly for Estevao on the far post, as he headed it home and triggered a full-scale eruption at Stamford Bridge.
