Three goal involvements, one historic strike - Simeone's new weapon is here
Ademola Lookman is again under the spotlight after making an explosive and spectacular debut for Atletico Madrid on Thursday night.
The Nigerian forward, one of the stars of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, made history in a 5-0 Copa del Rey quarterfinal demolition of Real Betis, directly influencing three of the five goals of Cholo Simeone's side.

Just before the half-hour, Lookman set up Atletico's second: a first-time pass released Matteo Ruggeri down the flank, and Giuliano Simeone finished the move. Moments later, he scored his first goal for the club, cutting inside and firing past Adrian San Miguel off the base of the post - the first Nigerian to score for Atletico in history.
He didn't stop there.

Lookman later assisted Antoine Griezmann's strike for the 0-4, instantly making himself a key figure in Diego Simeone's squad and announcing that Atletico's new signing is no ordinary debutant. The Nigerian joined them just four days ago in a 35,000,000-euros-worth long-term move.
