
Madira Soccer, Ebwali Boys crowned Vihiga County Safaricom Chapa Dimba champions

Both teams received 750000 each and a opportunity to represent Vihiga County at the Western Region finals
Madira Soccer Assassins and Ebwali Boys are the new Safaricom Chapa Dimba Vihiga county champions .
In the girls final, Madira saw off Maroon Queens while Ebwali beat Bunyore Assassins from Luanda on post match penalities in the boys final held at Mumboha Stadium in Luanda.
Madira's Valerie Nekesa scored in the 45th minute to put the students ahead of the lethal attacking Maroon with an outrageous kick from the edge of the box that caught Queen's custodian pants down.

Less was to come in the second half as the Western Region Secondary School Soccer Games runners up Madira defended the one goal lead to emerge winners of the fourth edition Safaricom Chapa Dimba extravaganza
"We came to the finals prepared to win. We observed how our opponents played throughout the tournament a d capitalized on their weakness which earned us a win," offered Nick Muleri Madira coach.
"I am happy we have won because it was a tough match and the team kept the fighting spirit that we learned from the mentorship program we received earlier from our mentors . It is an honour representing Vihiga at the regionals and we promise to do our best ," stated Assassins top scorer Velerie Nekesa.
Ebwali Boys emerged victorious in the boys finals after beating Bunyore Assassins 3-1 on post match penalities after the match ended in a barren draw during regular time.

Madira Soccer Assassins and Ebwali received a cash reward of KES 75,000 each and a opportunity to represent Vihiga County at the Western Region finals in the coming months at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega County with the runners-up teams taking home Ksh 30,000 each.
The Best Goalkeeper and top scorer- both boy and girl received Ksh 10,000 each. The Most Valuable Player also pocketed Ksh 10,000 and an additional TVET scholarship from Safaricom Foundation.
The Vihiga finals will be followed by Busia, Kakamega and Bungoma County finals the following weekend of 12th and 13th August.
County winners will proceed to play at the Western regional finals to be held in the historic Bukhungu Stadium later in the month.
The Western region kicked off in June at ward level, featuring a total of 441 teams. Among the four counties, Kakamega had the highest number of teams with 162, followed by Bungoma (152), Busia (64), and Vihiga (63).
