History favors MOFA, who dominated both legs of last season’s encounters, recording a thumping 5–0 home victory before a 1–1 stalemate in the reverse fixture
The FKF National Super League round two fixtures continue this Sunday, 5 October, with an enticing line-up of matches set to light up stadiums across the country.
Round Two promises intensity and early statements of intent as teams look to build momentum in the race for FKF-PL promotion.
The headline fixture will be staged at the Dandora Stadium, where FC Talanta play host to Migori Youth in what is expected to be a gripping early kickoff.
Both sides head into the encounter brimming with confidence, having registered identical 1–0 victories in their opening matches of the campaign, Talanta edging Kibera Black Stars, while Migori Youth narrowly saw off Mwatate United at the Awendo Stadium.
For Talanta, this fixture carries more than just three points. It marks their first home outing of the season and an opportunity to reaffirm their credentials as early promotion contenders.
Having suffered relegation from the FKF Premier League on the final day of last season, Talanta are determined to mount an immediate return to the top flight. Coach Jackson Gatheru will be banking on his side’s top-tier experience and discipline to deliver a commanding display that could set the tone for the weeks ahead.
Victory on Sunday would hand Talanta a perfect six points from two matches, keeping them firmly within reach of early league leaders Naivas FC and boosting morale within a squad eager to restore pride.
However, Migori Youth arrive with their own ambitions and confidence. The youthful, well-drilled side from Migori County are targeting a maiden promotion to the FKF Premier League , a dream that has long lingered since their promotion to the second tier.
Their opening-day success at home against Mwatate United was a statement of purpose, and they now travel to the capital eyeing back-to-back victories that would establish them among the early pacesetters.
Given both teams’ attacking flair and defensive resilience, Sunday’s clash at Dandora is expected to provide fireworks and set the pace for the round two fixtures.
Over at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo, another exciting battle will unfold as Michael Olunga Foundation Academy (MOFA) host Vihiga United in a 3 PM kickoff.
MOFA, under the guidance of Charles Bruno, began their campaign in style with a 1–0 victory over Nairobi City Stars and will be out to extend their perfect start.
A second consecutive win would propel them to six points and cement their place among the league’s frontrunners.
Vihiga United, meanwhile, will be eager to register their first victory after being held to a 1–1 draw by newcomers Kabati Youth at Thika Stadium.
A win for coach Milton Kidiga and his side would take them to four points, placing them just two shy of the summit.
History favors MOFA, who dominated both legs of last season’s encounters, recording a thumping 5–0 home victory before a 1–1 stalemate in the reverse fixture — but United will be motivated to turn the tide this time.
At Vapor Grounds, Nairobi City Stars will be on a redemption mission following their shock 1–0 defeat to MOFA on the opening day.
Coach Salim Babu’s men, relegated from the Premier League last season, are desperate to bounce back quickly as they chase an immediate return to the top flight.
Three points on Sunday would reignite their campaign and ease the pressure early on.
Standing in their way is Luanda Villa, coached by veteran tactician Leonard Swaleh, who were held to a 1–1 draw by Equity FC last weekend.
The Luanda-based side will be keen to notch their first win of the season and move up to four points — a result that would leave them just behind early leaders Naivas FC, who registered their second consecutive win of the campaign on Saturday against MCF.
In Embu, 3K FC will look to capitalize on home advantage at the Moi Stadium when they face Darajani Gogo.
Coach Francis Chege’s side, entering their second season in the NSL, are keen to bounce back after falling 2–1 to Nzoia Sugar last weekend.
A win would not only mark their first points of the campaign but also restore belief in a squad determined to solidify its second-tier status.
Their opponents, Darajani Gogo, finished fourth last season, narrowly missing out on promotion due to goal difference.
Coach Andrew Ongwae’s men will be out to make a strong statement after sitting out the opening round. The two sides traded 2–0 home wins last term, setting the stage for another evenly contested clash.
At the Moi Stadium, Kisumu, Kisumu All Stars begin their season under new manager Billy Agai, a former player now tasked with reviving the team’s fortunes.
All Stars, who were inactive last weekend, will be seeking a winning start against a Kibera Black Stars side eager to recover from their narrow loss to Talanta.
The fixture marks the 16th meeting between the two teams, with Black Stars winning five, All Stars four, and six encounters ending in draws — setting up what promises to be another tense affair.
Down at the Mbaraki Stadium, Mombasa United will be chasing consecutive wins following their 1–0 triumph over MCF. Coach Gilbert Selebwa’s side look sharp and determined but face a stubborn Fortune Sacco side desperate to respond after an opening-day defeat to Naivas FC.
