Talanta Stadium is an ultramodern, brand-new arena being built by the Government of Kenya (GoK) as one of the ways of improving the sporting industry in the country.

The facility has been under construction since March 2024, when works began following a groundbreaking ceremony presided over by President William Ruto.
The construction of the stadium is more than 50% complete ahead of the 31 December deadline, with the contractor, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), deploying workers on both day and night shifts to ensure the facility is ready by then.
In the latest updates, the Principal Secretary (PS) in the State Department for Sports, Elijah Mwangi, through his Facebook page, has shared the impressions of the skyboxes.
“One of the most outstanding features of the Talanta ultra-modern stadium is the luxury skyboxes guaranteed to offer unprecedented, luxurious and immersive sport-viewing experience,” reads part of a post by Mwangi.
The PS, who previously served under the same capacity in the State Department for Mining, went ahead to explain what a skybox is.

“A skybox is a private suite, located strategically high up in the stadium with a breathtaking panoramic view.
The amenities are specially designed to provide unparalleled comfort, including a climate-controlled environment, TVs, a private bar, drinks, snacks and dedicated personnel to attend to the guests,” he explained.
According to the render photos on his page, the high-end luxury rooms will have VIP leather seats to provide comfort while seated while overlooking the pitch through a glass.
The skybox also has a lounge for occupants who will enjoy food and drinks from the bar, with the PS also explaining the importance of the amenities.

“For modern stadia, skyboxes are indispensable features that provide luxury, comfort and privacy. They are a key attraction for top corporate guests, HNWI and other VIPs, local and international,” he remarked.
Upon completion, Talanta will have a total of 52 skyboxes. The facility is poised to be the main theatre of action for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which Kenya will co-host alongside Tanzania and Uganda.
