Morocco lost two key players for the World Cup

Luckily for the Atlas Lions, they were able to change them with two other footballers

Two major blows for Morocco at the last minute. Due to injuries, the African side has been forced to make changes to its squad for the World Cup. It is now official that Nayef Aguerd and Abde Ezzalzouli will not represent Morocco at the tournament. Both players have strong reputations in European football. However, their injuries proved too serious, treatment did not produce the desired results, and they had to be removed from the list of 26 registered players. The only positive thing about this situation is that it happened just in time when Atlas Lions could make changes, although the players called to replace these two footballers are not so good.

Nayef Aguerd has not played for Marseille since March because of a groin problem. The experienced defender, who has earned 64 caps for Morocco, was racing against time but ultimately lost that battle. He will be replaced by Marouane Saadane, a 34-year-old veteran from Al-Fateh in Saudi Arabia, who has made only six appearances for the national team. Abde Ezzalzouli also failed to beat the clock in his recovery race. The Real Betis winger was injured during a friendly match against Norway. It was immediately clear that he would miss Morocco's opener against Brazil, and today came the official confirmation that his World Cup is over. Ezzalzouli's replacement is Amine Sbai, the Angers forward who made his debut for the national team last month.
