The Scandinavian national team has made thorough preparations when it comes to the players' nutrition

Norway are taking part in the World Cup for the first time since 1998, and the Scandinavians have taken their participation extremely seriously — so seriously, in fact, that they have literally brought tons of food with them.

The Norwegians arrived in the United States with a truly astonishing amount of supplies. They brought 300 kilograms of fish, and that is not all. Another 116 kilograms of the traditional Norwegian cheese brunost made the journey across the Atlantic, along with more than 6,000 oranges. Everything was delivered to their training camp in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The man responsible for it all is Aron Espeland, who has been cooking for the national team for 35 years. He expects the squad to consume all 300 kilograms of fish during the tournament. Assisting him are three of Norway's most renowned chefs.

Of course, there is a psychological aspect to it as well. North Carolina's climate is vastly different from Norway's, making it important for the players to have something familiar around them during the tournament.

Norway have been handed a very difficult group at the World Cup. They will compete in Group I alongside France, Senegal, and Iraq. It is a group that certainly deserves the label of a "Group of Death."
