Bandari FC secured a third-place finish in the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup after defeating KCB FC 2-0 in the playoff match, courtesy of second-half goals from Andrew Juma and Amza Moubarack.

KCB were the first to threaten when experienced midfielder Humphrey Mieno connected with Boniface Omondi's delivery, but his effort sailed narrowly over the crossbar.

The Bankers continued to press forward, with Kelvin Etemesi causing problems down the attacking line.

The former Nairobi City Stars forward beat his marker before unleashing a shot from the edge of the area, but his attempt failed to hit the target.

Bandari gradually settled into the contest and responded with chances of their own.

Darius Msagha came close after reacting quickest to William Wadri's delivery, but his volley drifted just wide.

Wadri then turned from provider to finisher, meeting Abdallah Hassan's cross, only to see his effort miss the upright.

KCB remained dangerous and nearly broke the deadlock through Rowland Makati.

The forward combined well with Etemesi before firing a long-range effort that narrowly missed the post.

At the other end, Bandari midfielder Sharif Majabe rose highest to meet Hassan's delivery, but his powerful header sailed over the bar.

The two sides went into the halftime break level after Makati squandered another opportunity, failing to direct Mieno's pass on target.

After the restart, both teams continued to push for the opening goal.

Wadri came close for Bandari just before the hour mark, while Mieno's effort at the opposite end flashed narrowly wide.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 70th minute when Juma powered home a header to hand the Coastal side the lead.

Eight minutes later, Moubarack doubled Bandari's advantage, finishing clinically to put the result beyond doubt.

Despite KCB's late attempts to mount a comeback, Bandari held firm to seal a deserved victory.

The win earned Bernard Mwalala's side Ksh 1.5 million and a podium finish, while KCB settled for fourth and Ksh 1 million as Robert Matano's first campaign at the club ended without silverware.
