Naaman Balecho is among the fresh faces in the Harambee Stars squad currently preparing to face Gabon and Seychelles in World Cup qualifiers
New Harambee Stars man Naaman Balecho is not just satisfied with the debut call-up; he's eager to make a lasting impact and learn from the best.
"I am obviously happy to be in the National team, but I am here to learn," Balecho exclaimed with a gleam in his eyes. "I want to score more goals and provide more assists, and the national team is a good place to learn from the best."
Balecho's journey from the fields of Murang'a Seal to the national spotlight has been nothing short of remarkable. With a string of impressive performances in the FKFPL catching the attention of national selectors, he now finds himself rubbing shoulders with some of the finest football talents in the country.
"I've always dreamt of representing my country on the international stage, and now that the opportunity is here, I am ready to give my best," Balecho said with determination.
Known for his lightning-quick pace, precise ball control, and passing range, Balecho is poised to be a game-changer for Harambee Stars in the near future. His hunger to learn and improve is evident, and his attitude is infectious among teammates.
Babaz, as he is affectionately referred to by his peers, started his football oddysey as young boy in Mikindani, Mombasa where renowed youth football coach Collins Olimba discovered him while at Cool Boyz FC. He later joined Menengai High School in Nakuru for his O-level education.
He reunited with Olimba at Cheza Sports Academy in Nairobi South B where he shone and was snapped up by South B United. He did well for the latter during the Chapa Dimba Tournament and joined AFC Leopards Youth. He later landed at Murang'a Seal where he has now matured as a player and rightfully earned his maiden call up to the National team.
