Ng'ang'a has now featured in three consecutive games for Zanaco
Zanaco FC defender Dennis Ng’ang’a has expressed his delight at bagging the Man of the Match award after putting in a great performance against Trident in an away Zambian Super League game.
The central defender capped a great overall performance with a second goal in a 2-0 win. Chawanangwa Kaonga opened the scoring in the first half before Ng’ang’a, making just his third appearance for the club, doubled the lead with a superb long-range strike.
The win came after back-to-back one-all draws, and at full time, Ng’ang’a was named MVP of the game. In an interview with Mozzart Sport, the player expressed his delight at being recognized for his exemplary performance in the game. He was equally elated to have picked a triumph.
"It feels good to win the award, but more importantly, it is good that we won this game—an important win away from home after two consecutive draws—and we now head into the international break with a win, and we should now build on that when we resume in a week’s time," he said.
Ng’ang’a completed a move to Zanaco from Gor Mahia a few weeks ago. This is the first time that he is playing outside the Kenyan borders, and he says that he is enjoying life in the Zambian Super League.
"So far, so good. I have played in three back-to-back games, and I now have my first goal in the Zambian league. I believe we can get better with more training sessions and games. The goal of the team is to contest for titles, and I want to play a part in the club’s success first by defending well and also by scoring important goals when I get the chance," he added.
Zanaco will next host Mufulira Wanderers at home on September 16.
