At Sudi Stadium, Nzoia Sugar finally tasted long-awaited victory after close to two months, overcoming Kisumu All Stars 2–1
National Super League (NSL) leaders, Migori Youth, squandered a perfect opportunity to widen their cushion at the summit after being forced to a frustrating 1–1 draw by visiting Vihiga United on Sunday, 23 November at Green Stadium, Awendo.
Despite dominating large spells of the encounter, Migori failed to make their chances count, allowing the resilient Vihiga side to cancel out Geoffrey Odira's early strike to snatch a precious point and momentarily halt the hosts’ early-season momentum.
The result leaves Migori anchored at the top on 20 points, their lead cut to just a point after second-placed Mombasa United climbed to 19.
The stalemate also marked only Migori’s second stumble this campaign, the other being their shock 3–2 defeat to debutants Equity FC earlier in the season.
For Milton Kidiga’s charges, the draw did little to shift their fortunes,as their struggles persisted, keeping them lodged in 16th place on a modest eight points.
At Vapour Grounds, Darajani Gogo snatched the full spotlight in the heated Kibera Slum Derby, edging hosts Kibera Black Stars 1–0 in a fierce contest that lived up to its billing.
A first-half strike by Joshua Otieno was the difference, sealing all three points for coach Andrew Ongwae’s spirited side.
The victory marked Gogo’s third win of the season, lifting them to 11 points and halting a worrying two-match winless run, with two games still in hand.
For Iddi Badi’s Black Stars, the defeat compounded a frustrating run of form.
It was their third consecutive match without a win and their fourth loss of the season, a slide that pushed the outfit down to sixth place with 13 points.
At Embu Stadium, 3K FC’s impressive rise continued as they dispatched a hard-fighting Gucha Stars 1–0 in a gripping encounter.
The decisive moment arrived in the second half when Oscar Juma struck to secure maximum points for Alfred Chege’s men, handing them back-to-back victories and extending their unbeaten streak to an astonishing eight matches.
The triumph propelled 3K FC to third place on 18 points, now breathing down Migori Youth’s neck just two points off the summit.
For Sammy Okoth’s Gucha Stars, the loss halted their momentum following a vital 2–1 win over Nzoia Sugar last week.
The Kisii-based debutants slipped into 15th place on seven points, marking their third defeat of the campaign.
At Sudi Stadium, Nzoia Sugar finally tasted long-awaited victory after close to two months, overcoming Kisumu All Stars 2–1.
Goals from Ezekiel Wekesa and a stoppage-time penalty by Obed Khakina before the interval, delivered a morale-boosting win, their first since the opening-day triumph over 3K FC.
The result lifted coach Charles Odera’s side to eighth place on 12 points, injecting fresh confidence into their faltering campaign.
For Billy Agai’s Kisumu All Stars, the loss was a painful setback after last week’s stunning 2–0 victory over Mombasa United.
They now remain second from bottom with five points, having suffered their fifth loss of the season, only ahead of bottom-placed Kabati Youth.
At the MCF Complex in Ndalani, hosts Mully Children’s Family (MCF) ushered in a new chapter in style, defeating Luanda Villa 1–0 in their first match post departure of coach Vincent Nyaberi.
A composed finish from Joseph Odongo sealed the win, their third of the campaign, lifting MCF to 12 points and climbing five places up the table to ninth, level with Fortune Sacco.
Luanda Villa’s turbulent season, however, took another hit.
The narrow defeat, their fifth in nine outings, reinforced their inconsistency and left them languishing in 17th place on seven points.
