At Gems Cambridge, Kibera Black Stars claimed a morale-boosting 2–0 win over Mwatate United, halting a five-match winless run
National Super League (NSL) leaders Migori Youth squandered a golden chance to widen their lead after suffering a shock 3–1 defeat to MOFA FC in a highly-charged South Nyanza derby at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
Goals from Joseph Bate, Kelvin Bulimo, and George Ogutu powered the Homa Bay-based side to a memorable victory, denying Migori what would have been a third consecutive win.

Both sides headed into the clash chasing identical ambitions.
Migori were eager to underline their title credentials, while MOFA, fresh from a spirited comeback win over Gucha, were equally determined to extend their own unbeaten streak.
The derby atmosphere was electric from the opening whistle.
Migori started brightly and came inches close to scoring early through Syphas Otieno, the former MOFA forward, who connected well with Frederick Ologi’s pass but dragged his effort narrowly wide.
Despite Migori’s aggressive start, it was the hosts who landed the first blow.
In the 9th minute, Bate pounced on a loose ball in midfield, surged past two defenders, and unleashed a thunderous strike that flew beyond goalkeeper Stephen Onyango to ignite celebrations among the home supporters.
MOFA nearly doubled their advantage moments later when Boniface Mukhekhe, formerly of AFC Leopards, rose to meet Bate’s pinpoint delivery but headed marginally off target with Onyango beaten.
Migori responded with urgency and almost restored parity in the 16th minute.
Ologi rounded his marker after a brilliant through pass from Otieno but saw his goal-bound effort heroically cleared off the line by Mukhekhe.
The pressure eventually proved too much for Migori’s defence.
Four minutes past the half-hour mark, Bulimo punished poor marking inside the box, smashing home a powerful effort that rifled into the roof of the net for MOFA’s deserved second.
Migori’s struggles continued, with MOFA coming close again through Laban Otieno, the pacey former Kisumu All Stars attacker, whose blistering run and shot forced another goal-line clearance, this time from Collins Otieno.
Migori's best chance before the break fell to Geoffrey Odira, who combined well with Samuel Maiko but fired agonisingly wide as the visitors went into halftime trailing 2–0.
MOFA resumed the second half in confident fashion and were rewarded just five minutes after restart.
A brilliant corner from Nelson Amunga found George Ogutu, who soared above his marker to plant a firm header past Onyango for MOFA’s third.
The hosts continued to dominate, with Bulimo and Amunga coming close to adding a fourth, while second-half substitute Vincent Oketch nearly scored with a clever lob that drifted inches over the bar.
Migori’s consolation arrived 15 minutes from time.
MOFA goalkeeper Paul Odhiambo was penalised for time-wasting, resulting in a corner that substitute Kennedy Odhiambo curled beautifully for Elvis Wafula to head in.
But despite a late push, Migori could not break down MOFA’s disciplined defence.
The hosts held firm to claim maximum points and bragging rights in one of South Nyanza’s most heated derbies.

At KHIBT Grounds, a Wycliffe Wanyonyi strike sealed a 1–0 away victory for Nzoia Sugar over promotion-chasing Naivas FC.
