Odhiambo optimistic as Kakamega Homeboyz prepare to face KCB in midweek clash

Having drawn with Gor Mahia over the weekend, Kakamega Homeboyz tactician Patrick Odhiambo believes a win over KCB on Wednesday will be important in building on the team's momentum heading into upcoming fixtures.

While noting that a win on Wednesday will be vital, Odhiambo welcomed Sunday's draw, noting an improved performance from his players.

"The lads had a great game on Sunday against Gor Mahia despite playing out to a one-all draw. We had hoped for maximum points, nonetheless, we welcomed a point and picked up a lot of positives from the tie, which we will look forward to better on Wednesday," Odhiambo said,

Despite a short time to regroup and get set for the midweek clash from Sunday's tie,Odhiambo notes he is keen to register his second win of the season when they host the Bankers in a rescheduled league match on Wednesday.

"We once again face a tough opponent just two days after Gor Mahia's encounter. We have had a very brief time to get ready for the match, but we are up to the task tomorrow. Our fixtures against the bankers have always been a neck-to-neck affair, but we are focused on getting our second win of the season because we understand the importance of a win tomorrow, which will have a greater impact on getting within reach of the current league leaders." He

Odhiambo further notes that he is impressed by Shami Mwinyi's impact on the team and notes that he has the qualities to help the club fight for honours.

"Shami is a very tactical player. Having players of his calibre and quality is a massive plus for the squad. He came in and had an immediate impact over the weekend, despite having only had three days of training with the team.
