Homeboyz felt the absence of the two midfielders in their last game against Kariobangi Sharks
Kakamega Homeboyz coach Patrick Odhiambo is hoping to have the duo of Moses Mudavadi and Hillary Juma when they travel for their weekend clash against Muhoroni Youth.
Odhiambo had to do without the services of the two midfielders in last weekend’s 1-0 loss to the Kariobangi Sharks at the Kasarani Annex.
Juma is nursing a knee injury picked up in their 1-0 win over Nzoia Sugar, while Mudavadi, who doubles up as the club skipper, has been away nursing a hamstring setback.
Odhiambo revealed that the two will miss this Thursday's game against log leaders Posta Rangers at the Bukhungu Stadium but expressed optimism about having them on the trip to Muhoroni.
“I am hoping that they will be cleared for the weekend game. The Posta game comes too soon for them,” disclosed the Mozzart Bet Cup-winning tactician.
Juma also remained hopeful of a clean bill of health before the away game.
“Pain on my left knee barred me from playing against sharks. However, I am feeling much better and looking forward to playing our weekend game,” said Juma, who joined Homeboyz in February from Muhoroni.
Fast-rising midfielder Gospel Otieno filled the gap left by Juma in the Sharks game that saw him face his former employers, with Brian Eshihanda captaining the team in the absence of Mudavadi.
Meanwhile, Homeboyz host Rangers and will be looking to bounce back to winning ways after Kariobangi Sharks defeat.
Rangers sit at the summit with 19 points, three ahead of defending champions Gor Mahia, who are the only unbeaten side.
The mailmen have lost a game so far and will look to register their seventh win of the season in Kakamega and extend their stay at the top.
