Ogam moves to Austria after a season with the Brewers.
After weeks of waiting, Harambee Stars striker Ryan Ogam has finally been unveiled by Austrian side Wolfsberger AC.
The left-footed forward sealed his move from Tusker FC to the Bundesliga outfit on September 1, but his travel was delayed due to a visa hitch.
With the issue now resolved, Ogam has officially been presented as a Wolfsberger AC player.
In a creative unveiling, Wolfsberger sampled some of the hundreds of messages—largely from Kenyans who had flooded the club’s social media pages for about three weeks—pressuring the club to unveil the Kenyan international.
In the video, where most fans were asking about the whereabouts of the 20-year-old, the club’s staff appear to be searching for Ogam, who is initially nowhere to be found, before he finally emerges from a vehicle to announce his arrival.
“Hi. I am Ryan Ogam, here I am,” said Ogam.
The announcement settled the anxiety of both Kenyan fans and Wolfsberger supporters, who had been impatiently waiting for the unveiling of the red-hot striker.
The former Rainbow FC player earned his move to Austria after impressing for Harambee Stars in the recently concluded 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) held in August.
Ogam finished as Kenya’s joint-top scorer in the biennial continental tournament, netting two goals in Harambee Stars’ run that ended in the quarterfinals.
His first goal was a clinical left-foot finish against Morocco, as 10-man Harambee Stars—reduced to 10 men after a red card on the stroke of halftime—went on to record a historic 1-0 win over the North African side, who would later win the title.
His energy also came in handy for Kenya in the last group-stage match against Zambia, where he scored the only goal in the second half to seal a home quarterfinal clash for Kenya.
Ogam carried his fine form into the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in early September, scoring Kenya’s consolation in the 3-1 loss to The Gambia, before bagging a brace in Kenya’s 5-0 win over Seychelles.
The former Tusker FC striker will now be hoping to make his debut on Saturday, September 27, when Wolfsberger host LASK in a league match.
