
Omweri named MVP as Mozzart Bet Cup champions hold end of season awards gala

Attacking midfielder Enock Machaka had his Cup-winning goal voted as the best strike in the concluded campaign
Newly-promoted FKF Premier League side Nairobi United capped off their historic 2024-2025 campaign in style by hosting a glamorous end-of-season awards ceremony at their Mombasa retreat.
The gala sought to reflect on their season and honour outstanding performers, who played pivotal roles in their memorable campaign.

In a season defined by resilience and silverware, the club not only clinched the National Super League (NSL) title, but also stunned top-tier opponents to lift the prestigious Mozzart Bet Cup.
At the heart of that success was forward Isaac Omweri, who was deservedly named the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Omweri’s recognition comes after an outstanding individual season, where he featured in 36 matches across all competitions , missing just three league fixtures.
The former Shabana FC attacker scored eight goals (seven in the league and one in the Mozzart Bet Cup against Kakamega Homeboyz) and contributed a league-high 16 assists, underlining his instrumental role in the club’s attacking fortunes.
The gala also saw several other players and staff feted for their contributions to Nairobi United’s dream run.
Chacha Maneno walked away with the 'Golden Glove' award for his consistent performances and clean sheets throughout the season.
Daniel Bichiok, the commanding South Sudanese centre-back, was crowned defender of the season, while midfield maestros Lesley Otieno and Bernard Ouma shared the midfielder of the season accolade.
Frank Ouya, who finished as the team’s leading marksman, was recognised as the top scorer, while Duncan Omalla , younger brother to Harambee Stars Benson Omalla, was named the young player of the season for his promising displays.
One of the standout moments of the campaign was also celebrated, as Enock Machaka receivedEnockgoal of the season award for his thunderous long-range volley that helped down Gor Mahia 2-1 in the Mozzart Bet Cup final.
The club’s head coach Nicholas Muyoti and his technical bench were also honoured for masterminding Nairobi United’s incredible season.
