The win catapulted the Mailmen to 13th on the log with 36 points, leaving them with a four-point buffer over Ulinzi Stars, who occupy the final relegation slot, albeit with a game in hand.
Posta went into the match on the back of a poor run of form and a six-match winless streak in all competitions, five of which were in the league, with their previous match being a 1-1 draw against Bandari FC.
Sofapaka, on the other hand, had endured a torrid run throughout the season and went into the match with a 22-match winless streak on their shoulders.
The match started with Posta on the front foot, dominating the midfield through Jackson Macharia and Elvis Noor and seemingly motivated by their quest for survival.
The Mailmen would get their reward in the 25th minute through Jackson Macharia, who pounced on a loose ball inside the box to slot it past Morgan Sitawa in the Sofapaka goal.
Batoto ba Mungu had a chance to equalise in the 37th minute, but Shaibbu Idrissu saw his free kick head inches over the cross bar with Posta taking their lead to the break.
Having conceded a goal, Sofapaka came out with little caution in the second half, which also meant that they left gaping holes at the back for Posta to exploit through Oliver Maloba and Caleb Olilo.

Posta would add a second in the 64th minute after Stephen Bonnie scored a header into his own net from a Dimpol Omamo cross.

The Mailmen would continue their riot a minute later, this time Elvis Noor scored a cracker from outside the box with Oliver Maloba providing the assist to consolidate the lead and hand head coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno his first win on his return to Posta Rangers.
With the win, Posta are now 13th on the log with 36 points, four points ahead of Ulinzi Stars in the red zone.
