Sharks ,who are on a mission of rebuilding their squad after losing key players and others on the verge of leaving, confirmed the return of Omoto via their social media pages.

“Patilah Omoto returns.A pulse in midfield who brings balance and calm in chaos rejoins from Posta Rangers,” read a post on Sharks' Facebook page.

In July 2022, Omoto left Sharks for Police FC where he spent two seasons before he left in July 2024 for Posta Rangers after expiry of his contract.

At Posta, the former Kenyan international featured sparingly, spending most of his time on the sidelines through injury.

The 30-year-old made his debut for the 2018 Mozzart Bet Cup winners in 2005 and spent eight years at the club before he left briefly in 2013 for AFC Leopards and later Bandari in 2014.

Omoto would then return to Sharks in 2015 for his second stint and was a key player in the history-making squad that helped the club to earn promotion to the FKF Premier League in 2016.

The soft-spoken midfield general was equally part of the team that won Sharks the 2018 Mozzart Bet Cup and represented the club in the CAF Confederation Cup.

In between, Omoto featured for the national team severally, having made his debut in 2012 and was part of the CECAFA winning squad of 2017.

Omoto’s return is a boost to Sharks who have already lost key midfielders Biron ‘N'Golo' Otieno to Shabana and Fortune Omoto to KCB FC.

Apart from Omoto, Sharks have also signed goalkeeper Collins Omondi from fourth tier side Lucky Summer FC, Wayne Dalvine from Sofapaka and promoted striker Jaheon Wakachala from the youth tram
