Even with a mixed lineup, Luis Enrique’s team was convincing in a 3-0 win over Angers

Everything in Paris revolves around the upcoming Champions League spectacle and the clash with Bayern in the semi-finals. On the eve of what many are calling a “final before the final” — a meeting of the two strongest teams in European football this season — Luis Enrique once again showed the incredible depth of his squad.

While all of Europe’s attention is fixed on Paris Saint-Germain and their push for a second consecutive continental title, the Parisians must also take care of business in Ligue 1, which has become a platform for squad players who usually wait for their chance in the decisive Champions League matches.

The PSG coach deliberately rested most of his key players, especially in attack, but it made no difference on the pitch. On the contrary, Paris Saint-Germain dominated and comfortably defeated Angers away from home 3-0, effectively confirming that the league title is already secured.

With four rounds remaining, PSG hold a six-point lead over second-placed Lens, making it clear that a fifth consecutive championship will end up in the capital. This will be PSG’s 14th Ligue 1 title overall, and their 12th in the last 14 seasons.

It was also a clear statement night for the squad players, as stars like Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue were left out. Instead, players such as Lucas Beraldo, Senny Mayulu, and Lee started from the beginning — and it was precisely those three who ended up scoring all the goals in the victory.

The first breakthrough came after a move down the right flank. Achraf Hakimi burst into the box and fired a close-range shot, which was saved by Burkina Faso goalkeeper Herve Koffi. However, the rebound fell to Kang-in Lee, who produced a brilliant feint to completely deceive both the defenders and the goalkeeper before calmly finishing into an empty net for the early lead.

The second goal arrived shortly after. Teenage talent Senny Mayulu, one of the jewels of the PSG academy and a scorer in last season’s Champions League final, finished off a superb team move. Beraldo found him with a precise pass between the lines at the edge of the box. Mayulu controlled the ball, shifted it onto his left foot, and placed a composed low diagonal shot into the bottom corner.

When PSG are in this kind of form, there is simply no way back for the opponent. The lead continued to grow, and the opposition defence completely collapsed under the pressure of Enrique’s energetic youngsters. Any remaining hope for the home side was finally extinguished by the impressive Lucas Beraldo, who added a goal to go along with his earlier assist.

Following a corner delivered from the right by Lee, Beraldo rose highest in the middle of the box. He met the ball cleanly with a header, sending it into the far corner and leaving Koffi with no chance to react.

This victory brought another three points for PSG, as well as valuable calm for Luis Enrique. With a six-point lead over second-placed Lens and just four rounds remaining, the title race is practically decided. And now, all attention turns to the Champions League.
